Bringing Science to Life

Dedicated to inspiring the next generation of thinkers through story-telling and interactive sessions on Astrophysics and Philosophy to foster rational temperament within the society.

City of Stars

Can time run backwards? How does the center of our galaxy smell? Do aliens exist, and what would a sunset look like on a planet with two suns?

We are nothing but the cosmos come together to question its own secrets. In my talk City of Stars, together we journey into the known and the unknown, pondering the profound cosmological questions that have captivated humanity for centuries.

All the versions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 17.

Philosophy 101

Does god exist? Does consciousness? Are we living in a simulation? What would a universe look like where everyone was good?

If you're philosophically inclined but feel your thoughts lack structure, or if you simply want to explore philosophy as an endeavour, Philosophy 101 is a four-session workshop typically conducted over two weekends, moving from an introduction to philosophy to rigorous, guided debates among participants. Register here.

Shiyam Prakash, SRMIST, Ktr.

Divyansh encouraged his participants to come up with as many as 50 novel modes of science communication by themselves. His session was a testimony to his love for his practice, and his ability to break down complex concepts into simple understandable concepts is second to none.

DIVYANSH MANSUKHANI AWARD FOR SCIENCE COMMUNICATION

If I ask you to name five science communicators, I bet no indian will make it to your list. Awarded with the host institution, this award is my token of encouragement to the soldiers of scicomm. It comes with a small but significant prize money!

Past Recipients

Srushti Desai

Srushti organised my talk at her university, convening between the authorities and collecting over 100 participants at a fairly short notice. She has selflessly helped me and my peers with our initiatives, and we've grown to be really good friends over the years.

Sharanu

Once I gifted him the book Cosmos by Carl Sagan with a note to keep it circulating. A few months later, I received a pic from him, now as an Associate Professor of Physics, passing it on to one of his students.

Rounak Choudhary

He received this award at the Prime Minister's Planetarium for building fun demonstrations, such as DIY hydro rockets using plastic bottles.

Pranjali Arya

Pranjali was highly recommended by the planetarium fo pulling off a life-sized moon colony exhibition before the former ISRO Chief, S Somanath.

Bhavana Reddy

Bhavana was a student in my science communication course at Manipal. When two school students struggled with their tasks, she volunteered, alongside her own work, to help them, exemplifying the selfless spirit essential to science communication.
